nashville eatery: hot diggity dogs

Almost every Saturday, Mr. Matty and I visit our favorite lunch spot Hot Diggity Dogs. From the logo, checkerboard floors, and turqouise and red decor, this tiny eatery is brimming with charm. Gayle greets you with the her signature spunk, draped in the sweetest southern accent. We love when she yells our order to the kitchen staff standing about 5 inches away. My favorite is a veggie dog, on the grill, fixed like a "nashville". Matty likes his dog loaded with a bit of everything which Gayle informs him is a "build your own". We top off the meal with a home-cooked bag of fries and a coke! If you live in Nashville, make your way to Hot Diggity Dogs for the best dog in town!

I'm so ready for Spring that I decided to put some new outfits in the shop suited for warmer weather! Pick some up here.

amy coe

I love Amy Coe. I had the pleasure of meeting her, and her equally stylish daughter, when I worked here. I was a little lost when her baby line for Target went away, kind of like I am now without my beloved Isaac! Thankfully she has found a new home at Babies "R" Us! I love the room inspiration photos, modern furniture, and fab accessories! This bag is perfect for my super hip friend about to pop!

mad for mad men

My friend Libby just told me about the interview with her friend, and Mad Men costume designer, Janie Bryant. I am a huge fan of the show and completely obsessed with every piece of clothing, especially ones worn by "Joan"! Read the article here.

say it isn't so

Apparently the rumors are true. Domino has fallen.

clean eating

A few months ago I happened upon the magazine Clean Eating. It has changed the way I cook and shop! The vision of the magazine is to promote a lifestyle of health and well being by preparing and consuming food as close to the natural state as possible. I am in love with their week menu plans that even include a shopping list! All of the recipes and suggestions are so yummy! They also showcase fitness tips and all over body health. See more of the magazine and download one of the menu plans here.

past, present & future

My booth mate this weekend was a brilliant designer by the name of Kari Beth. This also happens to be the name she sells her fabulous jewelry under. As you walk up to her table you are met with antique books, busts, and leather suitcases full of gorgeous gems! It isn't until you look closely that you realize the jewelry are all antique pieces reconstructed into more function friendly designs. Kari Beth makes every single one of them, and no two are the same. I can't wait to have her make me a custom bracelet full of heirloom jewelry given to me over the years! Browse her store for more.

cheap balloons

I am a huge fan of any "dollar store"! Tonight I was browsing dollar tree for fun and remembered they sell foil balloons. Do you ever think something is too good of a deal? I mean I think $1 is a steal for a foil balloon. I got 4 of these pale pink hearts for my booth this weekend!

music: louis prima & keely smith

This past summer, my new web friend Jenny, sent me a collection of songs by Louis Prima & Keely Smith. Instantly, this was the coveted cd in the house. Week after week, Mr. Matty would steal it from my car and I would have to secretly steal it back. It's the kind of music that makes you smile and reminds you just how good you have it! I am a huge fan of a LIVE recording and this one not only sounds great, it embodies all the glam from those early Vegas days!

hostess with the mostess

As I watched the Obama's greet the Bush's on the front steps of the White House, I smiled as Michelle gave Mrs. Bush a hostess gift. First of all....classy, but what in the world do you get an outgoing President? News reporters say Mrs. Obama is the first to ever do this. I can't wait to see what other things Mrs. O will do during this administration.

Thank you so much for your list. Today I purchased my dream chairs for $50 a piece. Because of this I am forever in your debt.

the pioneer woman

My friend Erin shared this blog with me a few months ago and I am now a bonified addict. Think modern day Little House on the Prairie meets Martha Stewart, Nigella Lawson and Lucille Ball. I knew I had a blog crush when I read we both have collections of this, and that I too fell in love with a cowboy. She even manages to tackle this! Meet my new hero, and read all about her home on the range, here.
