I love when new people stop by the blog and I am introduced to their amazing talents. To me, this is the best part of the blog world. Olivia Rae is no exception and I now have something to put on my Christmas list. She makes these adorable cake stands out of antique plates....brilliant. Recently, at a wedding out of town, we received a Niven Morgan candle in our guest gift tote. I am in love with the scent "gold", and am comforted by it's similarity to my childhood perfume Amarige. I am now thinking this is the perfect cozy candle for fall. Check out the other Niven Morgan scents here.

This past weekend Mr. Matty took me to see Whip It and I must say it met all of my expectations! Drew Barrymore captured everything I love about roller derby and threw in some great costumes, a fantastic cast, and fun music. Nashville native, Landon Pigg, was even the featured love interest! I was also thrilled when a girl in the movie was using my derby name, Princess Slaya! Go see this movie! You will love it!

There are several ladies on TV that have me wanting to raid their closet! Of course the entire cast of Mad Men, but most recently, the closet of Emma Pillsbury of Glee! I can't get enough of her J.Crew-Kate Spade-vintage combos! I actually found myself sad when she was completely absent from last weeks episode. The one piece I was dying to find, was her adorable red knit beret! Thanks to Forever 31 (as my friends and I call it), I now have one exactly like it! Christina Hendricks, who plays the gorgeous Joan on Mad Men, was married over the weekend and I would have loved to be a bridesmaid. Look at these chic ladies in their fascinators and vintage inspired ensembles. I also spy those sequined Kate Spade heels I have been lusting for!

This past weekend while in Dallas we stayed at the new ALOFT hotel, kid sister of the W hotel. What I thought was a slight mis-step by Claire's has turned into an entire invasion of another 80's trend...the keyboard. Seriously do we need this? I am getting smacked in the face, from small boutique to large retailer, and pray that it finds it's way to a dark and lonely sale rounder quickly. If not I may need to dig my digital keyboard watch from 6th grade out of my hope chest.
