christmas wrapping

I may be one of the only people I know who loves to wrap presents. Don't get me wrong, there are some really cute gift bags out there and in a pinch they do the job, but I love the look of a wrapped gift. I had a friend in high school that worked in the wrapping department at Dillard's when I was a visual merchandising assistant there. I used to stop by on my break, watch her wrap, and I picked up a few tips along the way. Every Christmas season I search for new wrapping paper and in a completely different pattern than what I used last year. This year, I almost fell over when I came across this wonderful 1950's inspired paper at TJ MAXX. The only thing I can't figure out is why the postmark on the stamps says October?  What are some of your wrapping secrets?

I love that paper!!! Great find. I always tie an ornament to the top of the gift. Not only does it look pretty, it's like a bonus gift. Happy Holidays.

I love that paper - and wrapping is one of my favorite things about Christmas.

I like to wrap too. My only tricks are to try to find the paper with the lines on the back so my cutting is straight and then use 2-sided tape so you don't see tape on the outside (tacky!). Then add ribbons and bows...love bows!!! Makes me think of that old Christmas song, "Pretty Paper".

I like wrapping presents in reusable gift containers. This could be a teatowel, shopping bag, basket, purse, recipe box, clothes hamper, craft organiser... It depends on who the recipient is and the occasion, of course. This vintage wrap is so you. Don't fix what ain't broke. Did I just say that?!
