I'm not sure how I found youaremyfave, but it is one of my daily reads! Melanie is the genious behind the "pinata in the mail". If you haven't found her blog yet, you will instantly be hooked!
One thing I know Melodie loves is parties, so I've put it in a convenient little package for her. My sister recently had a birthday and I got her a cute headband. When I laid it in the box ready to send it it just looked, well, pathetic. I wanted her to be able to open the package and say, "Hot dog!" instead of, "Oh that's nice. When does Law and Order come on?" So I came up with this birthday in a box. Items included (in case it isn't clear from my stellar photography skills): rainbow cupcake mix, sunshine balloons, birthday candles, mini party hats, polka dotted cupcake liners, crepe paper and a glittery banner. Happiness can come in package form.

That is so clever! It's much better than filling a package with lame streamer and fillers!
Love it :)
What a fun idea! I want one of these... my birthday is less than a month away ;)
so adorable, and i love the photo! such a great idea, melanie is awesome. xo
that is a completely fantastic idea! I am totally doing this
I am gaga over this idea too! Isn't she just so creative!
That's lovely. I have a "party in a cupboard" at my house with party poppers, banners, streamers, sparklers and cupcake supplies.
PS don't underestimate Law & Order
LOVE this.

what a terrific idea!!! since all of my immediate family lives out of state, i'll be doing this for sure!!!
love love.
i did this for a friend years ago - a cupcake and confetti and party hats and i also put a helium inflated balloon in the box, so when she opened it a balloon floated out!
This reminds me of something I did For one of my friend's birthdays one year. I mailed her a care package, but inside was an entire theme for her birthday! She loved it!
Oh my goodness, that is so adorably cute! What a lucky sister ;)
